Why Don’t People Listen To Me? - Focus Your Thinking

Why Don’t People Listen To Me?

Why don't people listen to me

Most of the time people are listening to you in regards to hearing the words that you say.

The problem is that those words mean different things to them than what they mean to you.

You may ask how does that happen, the words only mean one thing surely

Well, that is not the case that I have found time and time again.

You are missing one small little step, which is clarifying what perspective the person you are talking to would come from. Meaning what knowledge and experience do they have to fully understand the information you are about to impart?

Most of the time you are only thinking about you not, the person you are talking to. Now for a moment change roles, to be better at communicating to get people to take action.

You need to think about what would help them to take action straight away. What are the key words composed in a way they go straight to taking action?

This is a much better goal, instead of saying and repeating words more firmly or LOUDER!!

Change your aim for the person you are communicating with to understand and people will take action sooner
