Thinking Right or Wrong is Probably Wrong… - Focus Your Thinking

Thinking Right or Wrong is Probably Wrong…

Thinking right or wrong is probably wrong

I’m right, you're wrong.

I’m wrong, you're right.

Thinking Right or Wrong, people have a bias to think in absolutes of either right or wrong. It’s a habit that happens, it enables you to feel comfortable and assign a definitive answer. Most people feel more comfortable once they have a definitive answer as opposed to being indecisive and no definitive answer.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t help when you want to understand other people, because thinking right or wrong is only a one persons perception. The communication is one way of understanding some information presented. You may think they understand your perception, unfortunately they have decided, very quickly in their head, whether it's right or wrong.

A much better approach is to think how could another person think differently to what I understand. Even more specifically with the information of have about the person in front of me, how could I explain my message and they get it straight away? Therefore, they are not vague with the answer and will not have to think right or wrong. They will just ask better questions about how it could be even better for them in their situation.

When you start thinking this way you are going to learn more about people than you ever imagined.

You will have insights into the ways to think and communicate, when you meet people like this again, you will be able to better communicate and understand them.
